I would say the best thing about
this hotel was the price of beer. Overall the hotel was depressing, the
atmosphere, the location, lots of noise outside, the rooms, the breakfast. You
could hear every word spoken outside as well as in the rooms nearby. The smell
of cigarette smoke was everywhere. As you can witness in Sumatra, the
population has never heard of smoking being bad for your health..
Room Tip: I could not recommend this Hotel, but look for a room that
faces the inside..

Stayed at Gran Malindo on 14th Feb
2013. Booked a suite room especially for its air-conditioning as we heard all
other rooms in that hotek is without a air-cnd or even a fan. Bukittinggi is
not cold at all during the day time and only a little windy outdoor at night.
And opening the room window to sleep may not be a good option as early morning
there are loud speaker speech from the next buliging. Lucky we got a room with
air-cond, if not there is no way to have a good night sleep with totally no
air-cond or even a fan. The suite we paid fro at Rp. 500,000 is in a terrible
condition, the sink tap is so loose liek going to fall off anytime, thetoilet
flush wont stop flow out water and the shower water won't flow out stuck. This
is a suite room we are talking about and the only thing working is the
air-cond, 16 inch TV and an old fridge. This is a very old and run down hotel
with no lifts, one have to clim the stairs. Avoid if possbile.

The drizzling of the rain knocked on
the roof. Outside the window, the fog encircled the city.
It was dawn in the late April, the temperature is chilly cool, and the dawn prayer felt like a real pleasure.
Who would need air fan or air conditioning in a high land town that's already chilled? ;)
The room is pretty spacious, unfortunately we've got ordinary view windows. The linen sheet is very soft, very comfortable to sleep on. The hot water runs well and stabil.
The breakfast is pretty standard though, not much of choice.
Stayed twice in this hotel, first time in 2008.

The hotel is clean, strategically
located-surrounded by shops and sightseeing spots. We were treated to 'welcoming
drinks', the breakfast was simple but nice.My only complaint is, there wasn't
any fan nor air-conditioning when i stayed there with my family. No doubt the
air was cool outside but i felt trapped in the room at night when we had to
close the window due to the traffic going back and forth throughout the night!

I stayed here on the 2nd floor from
23rd - 24th Feb 2012. I would say it's a basic hotel, but comfortable. Room is
large. Bathroom also large with a shower. But without air-condition. Since
Bukittinggi is colder, that didn't bother me.
Location is strategic. Just across the Sianok Canyon & the Japanese Tunnel. Also close to Pasar Atas, about 15-20 mins by walking. The hotel is just opposite the Al-Ikhwan mosque.
The hotel has no lift. It has a restaurant that serve open 24 hours (if i'm not mistaken). Rooms service also available.

Gmran Malindo hotel berbintang dua
terasa sekali service seperti hotel bintang empat, namun sangat disayangkan

We sliepen hier 2 nachten, hadden
